NZFMM 2005 Auckland Convention

The 2005 Biennial meeting of the New Zealand Federation of Meccano Modellers was held during Easter at Auckland.

Organizer - Peter Hancock

The above image is of 4 of part 129a (centre contrate gear) which was kindly been donated by Ashok Banerjee to form the webmaster's prize.  There are no rules to the competition.  It is purely up to the subjective decision of the judge who was William Irwin this time.  He awarded the prize to Tim Robinson for his demonstration two stage Torque Amplifier. It worked flawlessly and produces a gain of about 10000 to 1.
Williams reasons were:
1. It represented Meccano precision engineering at its finest, and worked flawlessly.
2. It was the culmination of years of research by Tim evolving through at least five previous versions to the present one.
3. The model was presented with full accompanying explanation and background information on printed stand-up cards.
