WEDDING BELLS

Bryan Jones

It is not often that a wedding is reported in our magazine, so it gives me pleasure to write an account of the lovely wedding that took place at the Khandallah Presbyterian Church on the 26 June 2004 at 2.00pm between our members Bryan Jones and Nancy Blake. The Wellington Meccano Club were represented by Keith and Emma McCallum, Simon and Susan Moody, Lou and Shirley Nichols and Laurie and Jean Webb.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Fraser Paterson, a minister for a good number- of years and a good number of weddings but for him it was a wedding of firsts. The first wedding with two choirs being the church choir and the Festival Singers of Wellington and a first in that there were three organists, a pianist and a flautist. Both Bryan and Nancy share a love of music and belong to both choirs, hence the wonderful music support. The one tier wedding cakes also reflected their interests, one with a musical theme with the letters N & B and one with a miniature train with both the cakes linked together with a bridge.
