John Stark reported on the availability of Meccano Sets on Spanner:
Despite previous advice from the distributors of Meccano in NZ (i.e. Mattel), the Master Connection Series of sets is for sale here. I found the complete range at Toyworld (Riccarton Mall, Christchurch), and was told by the shop assistant that he thought they were obtained via the NZ agents. Prices were:
    Cyber Cycle $39.99
    Cyber Buggy $44.99
    Roto Truck $49.99
    Abyss Visitor $69.99
    Survivor Car $99.99
    6x4 Machine $129.99
Toyworld also have a loyalty voucher scheme which effectively gives you a discount of $10 for every $200 you spend - so you'd get $20 off if you bought the lot. These prices are a bit dearer than Australian and English prices, but there's no exchange rate risk, postage or costs for bank drafts etc. If you local Toyworld (or other Meccano outlet) does not have these sets in stock (as is the case here in Nelson), it may be worth asking them to order the sets for you.
